Pre-run Cherry-Berry Smoothie – Power Up Your Run


Running is a fantastic way of getting in shape. It is proven effective in improving overall health and in boosting immune system to prevent certain diseases. But running is no piece of cake. It demands effort and it can leave you physically worn out and in pain especially if you’re new to running. Though muscle soreness and fatigue after a run are unavoidable, there are ways to minimize soreness. One way is by having this delicious and energizing smoothie. EASY!

Not only does this smoothie relieve inflammation, it also rehydrates your body, provides a healthy energy boost when running, and it’s tasty too!

1 cup coconut water

1∕2 cup tart cherry juice

1∕2 cup blueberries

1 frozen banana

2 teaspoons flaxseed oil (or 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed)

NOTE: For the tart cherry juice, you can use Nature Blessed Tart Cherry Juice Concentrate. With just two tablespoons (one ounce) or one packet of tart cherry concentrate, you’ll get 60 fresh tart cherries in a single serving!
